Why We Choose Nature Over Synthetics ?

When I started WildPetal, I wanted every candle to be a true reflection of my love for gardening and natural living. I wanted every candle I hand-poured to feel like a breath of fresh air grounding, refreshing, help you slow down and recharge, and most importantly, safe for your home.

I often get asked why I don't use those trendy, clear gel waxes you see on social media. While they look like little works of art, they don’t quite fit the WildPetal philosophy. Here is the honest reasoning behind why we stick to our all-natural blend of Soy and Coconut wax.  

What exactly is Gel Wax?   Gel wax (sometimes called jelly wax) is actually a mixture of mineral oil and polymer resin. It’s transparent and looks stunning, but it’s a synthetic product derived from petroleum. Because it isn’t made from plants, it doesn’t quite align with the natural, garden-inspired spirit we pour into every WildPetal jar.

Why we say NO to GEL WAX: 

There are a few realistic reasons why gel wax doesn’t make the cut for our collection

Not a Sustainable Choice: While gel wax has its own artistic beauty, it doesn't quite fit our eco-friendly heart because it isn't a renewable resource. Instead, we choose our signature all-natural soy and coconut blend because it is biodegradable, safer for your family, and truly renewable. 

The Heat Factor: Gel wax actually burns much hotter than natural waxes. This can be a bit tricky because if the glass gets too hot, it can crack or become dangerous to touch. At WildPetal, I want you to feel relaxed when you light a candle, not worried about the container.

Scent Struggles: Because of its chemical makeup, gel wax doesn't always "throw" scent as well as soy does. Since our signature fragrances like our English Rose (Wild Rose) or Lemongrass & Sage (Morning Dew) are designed to fill your room with a specific mood, we need a wax that carries those notes perfectly.

Air Quality:  Since gel is petroleum-based, it can produce more soot. We want your indoor "garden" to be fresh and clean, not filled with synthetic smoke.
